These two songs came about as we wanted original music for our video footage of 2011. Lots of fun was had practicing with Brenda Bee on Sunday afternoons. A big shout out to Motheo Moleko who wrote and sang the rap section in "Lovin' it. Both songs recorded with a mic in an empty house. Basic. :) May 2014 Update. Motheo Moleko is going places with Jemery Loops - Listen here.
Our very own song written and sung by Brenda Bee! Thank you to the Betty's Bay Brigade that performed for the video footage filming :)
The Ocean and I - written by Lise
Being in the ocean with my board is a connection to my soul, feeling free, floating and in awe of what is around me. Entering the ocean, you enter another dimension, where the world you know, melts away. Like life, riding ocean waves, holds great joy and great fear too. If we focus on the fears, we miss the greatest rides of our lives. Saluting the Sacred Ibis’s flying overhead in their V formations. Watching the sun shine down on the ocean, making it sparkle and glisten like fairies dancing. Watching the clouds and how the sunlight touches them turning them into wonderful shades of blue and grey. No artists’ palette can capture that. Floating over an enormous swell and then dropping over the edge. Flying down the face of a wave, body taut and strong, feeling the incredible strength and power of the sea Riding a swell for as long as possible, feeling the rhythm and flow and then back for one more. The longing for the wave that got away. Feelings of absolute joy, wonder, bliss, exhilaration, exhaustion and amazement are what I feel when I am in this wonderful world. Laughing and sharing all this with a bunch of crazy beautiful women. I am honoured, grateful and privileged to be part of the magnificence of this incredible, magical, ancient, flowing, powerful and mesmerizing ocean. |
